Class Description
No matter how many years you’ve practiced Italic, it never hurts to brush up your skills! Italic can be tiny or large, italicized or upright, made with a broad-edge pen or a monoline tool. In this workshop we’ll cover the basics – proportion, pen angle, slope, stroke sequence, and spacing. We’ll review the minuscules as well as the majuscules, and discuss flourishing. Students will get tips on using a tiny nib, and I’ll share my favorite tools for creating beautiful Italic letters.
